You may access your License Summary at the MS ® Volume Licensing Service Center . Once completed, simply compare your actual usage with the number of licenses shown on your License Summary. Alternatively, you may elect to conduct a manual inventory. There are a number of software inventory management tools available, including the Microsoft ® Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP), MS ® Systems Management Server, and MS ® System Center Essentials. New products or services must be purchased when first obtained and may be added to the EA. The True-up only applies to products that are licensed under the current EA. The True-up may also be an opportunity to adjust the mix of on-premises vs.cloud based services. You must also inventory the number of User CALs and Device CALs. This includes all servers, desktops, laptops, terminals, tablets, smartphones, and any device that accesses MS ® licensed software.
